Situated on the edge of a small, quiet hamlet, in the lovely hills the Vendée countryside, this attractive, traditional gîte retains much character, with beams throughout, wood-burning stove etc. Ideal for couples or small families, it sleeps a maximum of five in two bedrooms.

Attractive studio apartment with large, secluded balcony, set in 50 acres of private wood-land only 450m from this picturesque beach. A tranquil environment yet only 18kms south of the well-known resort of Les Sables d'Olonne. (Note that studio is not in same location as camping/cottage)

Local Vendée region
The small hamlet of La Viollière is surrounded by gently rolling countryside made up of fields and small woods. A very rural retreat but easy to find and well connected for exploring, with the lovely coast or Saumur within easy reach for day trips. An ideal area to escape the hustle and bustle but with lots to see & do if you wish.
Historical Sites
There are many nearby places of interest such as the medieval village of Vouvant with lovely views over the ancient ramparts. The renaissance town of Fontenay le Comte, ancient capital of the Vendée. Neuil sur l'Autize, said to be the birthplace of Eleanor of Aquitaine and its impressive Abbey and visitor's centre, to name just a few.
Activities
For such a rural environement there are a surprising number of activites in the area … go-karting, treetop adventures, horse riding and boating & canoeing on the lake in Mervent Forest. For the less adventurous there are some lovely walks, birdwatching, markets and a couple of local vineyards to visit for tastings.
